Located on a rocky hill, the house ‘Casa di Borgo Antico’ is part of an old architectural complex that also includes a church, a presbytery and a monastery. It is situated in the heart of Castel Sant’Angelo, a hamlet of Cingoli that counts about thirty houses scattered over the small valley and its surroundings. At twenty meters from the house, on the valley side, the impressive buttresses that sustained and delimited the castle can still be seen, but from the castle itself that gave its name to the hamlet, only oral witnesses remain. In fact, the church not only hides the previous constructions it was built upon, but also some caves and tombs.
The house ‘Casa di Borgo Antico’, entirely built in local stone, has three levels. The entrance is located next to the wall of the garden that once belonged to the church. It is a typically Italian country house, where you can meet small scorpions and different species of crickets, as well as bees and spiders. Surrounded by walnuts, mulberries and acacias composing a green horizon, the house offers its guests the opportunity to live close to nature.
On the first floor there are a bathroom and two air-conditioned bedrooms: a double room and a children’s room, equipped with a cradle and double bunk beds.
On the second floor there is a spacious, fully functional kitchen/dining room, with a fireplace equipped with a remote controlled ventilation system that spreads the heat through two air vents. From the kitchen, you can access the terrace, which offers a panoramic view of the small valley and where you can take your meals in summer and sometimes listen to the barking dogs of the hamlet. During the night, you may also observe some badgers wandering around.
Adjacent to the kitchen is the living room, equipped with a corner sofa bed, a small library and wardrobe space, and a children’s bed. The second floor also includes a bathroom.
The ground floor has three cellars, one of which communicates with the upper floors. The cellars are not accessible to the guests.
The house is a true family home where some marks left by the children’s games can still be seen. The numerous decorative elements will remind the guests of the ancient rural traditions of the region. These objects are precious, and guests are kindly asked to handle them with great care.
Simonetta (mob. +39 333 176 9245), a British lady who carefully looks after the house, will meet the guests upon arrival. The cleaning costs (95 Euro) and welcoming fee (50 Euro) are not included in the rental price. Guests will receive a detailed description of all costs together with their booking confirmation.
For organisational reasons, guests are kindly asked to indicate their arrival and departure time upon reservation.
A deposit (100 Euro) will be asked upon arrival and returned upon departure if no damages have been noticed.
The keys will be handed over after payment of the outstanding balance. Guests are therefore kindly requested to settle the account in cash upon arrival.
