Transportation
How to get to Positano
Positano by train and bus.
From Rome: fast train (freccia rossa) to napoli centrale: 1 hour and 10 minutes.
From Napoli: At the napoli central station take circumvesuviana (local train – several trains
per day) and stop in Sorrento (nearly one hour); from the Sorrento station take the bus (Sita)
to Positano (around 45’);
The bus stops in Positano in “chiesa nuova” in front of the bar internazionale.
From the bus stop to the house, you have two options:
1st option: follow the downhill road (not stairs, but on the way you can choose to take some
stairs, to earn some minutes) ) to the right; it takes 10/15 minutes walking to arrive at the
house. As soon as you find the “hotel pasitea” on your right, go ahead for 100 metres. Take the
stairs on your right called via mangialupini and go immediately right in Via del Canovaccio.
The entrance is immediately after at number two (the green door).
2nd option: from the bus stop at bar internazionale walk behind for 100 metres. You’ll find a
very small and narrow street (stairs) on the left called Via del canovaccio. Take it. It is a quite
steep descent. Few minutes and you arrive at home via del canovaccio n. 2 (green door).
From Rome with the direct bus during the summer period:
From stazione tiburtina in Rome: Bus Autolinee Marozzi: 7am from Rome; arrival in Positano
(chiesa nuova) 11.30 am; http://www.marozzivt.it/web.aspx

We had a wonderful stay. For a group of 7 with 2 families the place was perfect. Close to good restaurants and not too far from the beach. Very accessible from the main road which was a bonus for moving our luggage around. Marco was also very helpful with arranging visits and suggesting tourist destinations. Can’t wait to return to Positano.

Great location and close to restaurants. View from patio decks was fabulous. Eating b"fast out on the deck was so lovely. Bedrooms very comfortable. Stairs everywhere in Positano were best for getting to beaches.

Searching for our Italian roots in Amalfi couldn't have been better. Marco, our guide, attended to all the details of our trip on the Amalfi coast. From providing us with an incredible docent for our visit to Pompeii and making reservations for delicious culinary experiences to helping us plan our days and even cooking for us! Our three-generational Italian getaway is one we won't forget.

Great location with beautiful views in a peaceful area. Close enough to walk to everything you need from great restaurants, shops and beaches. No matter where you stay, you will encounter steps so enjoy the leg workout. We didn't spend much time in the house, but it fit our party of 8 perfectly and the place was much bigger than I expected and had a cool layout/architecture. The multi-level patios with the lemon tree canopy was amazing. It feels like a well loved family home in Italy. All amenities that we needed were provided. We were there in July. There was A/C in the 3 main bedrooms which worked great. The fourth bedroom didn't have A/C and could get hot during the day, but cooled down in the evening with the window open. We used the washing machine which worked great and loved drying our clothes on the patio line under the lemons. The hosts were very proactive and communicative. Reach out to them for recommendations early so they can help plan your trip. We would stay again!
We enjoyed our stay. The house was as described and we don't have any recommendations. It felt like a home away from home. Thanks!

Absolutely stunning, indoors and outdoors!! Amazing views and fabulous location. It felt like authentic Positano experience, lived in and unique but clean and comfortable with 3 nice bathrooms, multiple outdoor space, and everything you need. Honestly it was better then the pictures looked. Marco was extremely helpful with reservations for dinner, drivers and Beach chairs. Even helped us when we needed a Dr for an injury. Overall a superior experience for our adult family!!
Thank you again for sharing your home with my family! It was such a fabulous vacation for us!

This place was amazing! Everyone we interacted with was extremely friendly. The patios were stunning and the views were breathtaking. Will definitely be back! Slept 6 adults comfortably and in walking distance to a ton of fantastic restaurants. Thank you Guglielmo and team for making our first time in Positano a dream come true!

Just got back from spending 4 nights at this amazing villa in Positano. The location and views are unbelievable and Marco/Maria were amazing hosts. They advised us on the best local places to eat and even made reservations for us. I only wish we had known ahead of time all the services they can provide. They can arrange all of your transfers and day trips. Was there with my family and our favorite part was sitting out on the porch drinking wine and soaking in the amazing views of Positano. The location is great with a 5-10 minute walk to everything. Will definitely be back.

Charming multi-level house nestled on side of mountain. Many nooks in home were whimsically decorated. Kitchen well stocked. Washing machine. Very comfortable home with old time charm. Host was responsive when we had questions. Would stay again.

The villa had a strong musty smell resulting in us leaving all the windows open during the day. The online pictures and descriptions were misleading. Although the villa was fairly large, it had a lot of clutter with pictures and a lot of nick nacks which were unnecessary. The location itself was fine.
Owner Comments:
dear Lucy,
I'm sorry if you weren't happy. I do travel myself and rent houses abroad so I understand.
You mentioned unnecessary nick nacks, clutter and pictures.
I just want to point out to you that we both rent the house and keep it for a long part of the summer for us. nick nacks, clutter and pictures are part of our family history considering that my grandfather bought the house 100 years ago. For the same reason we also keep old furniture that belong to the house since ever. Otherwise you have an "Ikea" house like most of the houses for rent on the internet.
Regarding the musty smell consider that every house in Positano is built on the rock so sometimes can happen. I guess that it might be due to the fact that we had no guests for 15 day before your arrival.
I apologies for this.
Best
Pier guido

I just want to point out to you that we both rent the house and keep it for a long part of the summer for us. nick nacks, clutter and pictures are part of our family history considering that my grandfather bought the house 100 years ago. For the same reason we also keep old furniture that belong to the house since ever. Otherwise you have an "Ikea" house like most of the houses for rent on the internet.
Regarding the musty smell consider that every house in Positano is built on the rock so sometimes can happen. I guess that it might be due to the fact that we had no guests for 15 day before your arrival.
I apologies for this.

We enjoyed our stay in this unique home with fewer steps, beautiful terraces and excellent views. Marco, the property manager was exceptional, welcoming us with wine and the fruit of his garden along with recommendations for restaurants. The house itself was interesting with multiple levels, terraces or balconies out eac bedroom and lemon trees bearing fruit. The weather was someone chilly and there was heaters only in the bedrooms with a single small space heater which we moved about when we gathered in the dining or living rooms Also the plumbing was iintersting - showers were quick to conserve hot water and the water tended to drain slowly. Overall, the house has character, beautiful views, and the idiosyncrasies are to manageable.

Marco provided concierge type services for the property. he greeted us wit bread, cheese and vegetables. He arranged transport services to facilitate our visitation. he gave us a tour of the Amalfi Coast that was amazing. This tour which included a private viewing of a lemon grove, a walk thru Amalfi and history lesson, time at a sculpture's workshop, and finally a stop at a fishing village and lunch/dinner with owner and chef spending time with us enabled us to truly capture the essence of the Amalfi Coast. our accommodations worked well for our group of five. The highlight was Marco providing/arranging the activities and recommendations consistent with our group's desired activities.

My whole family enjoyed staying at this home in Positano. We especially enjoyed the pleasant evenings on the terrace. Local restaurants were all delicious and very walkable. The bus stop for the bus that goes all around Positano was very close to the home. This home is full of Italian charm and the view of the sea is perfect!

Everything about this place was wonderful. The views from the terraces and balconies were amazing. We easily fit our family of 6 adults with room to spare. The location was perfect - in the heart of town but just outside the most crowded streets. We took the stairs down to Fornillo beach every day. Gugliemo was great for the initial arrangements, Maria was a pleasure helping with checkin, and Marco was absolutely fantastic arranging sightseeing, tours, hikes, restaurants, cabs, and had great recommendations for everything. He helped with anything we needed. Marco even accompanied us on our private boat tour day and was a wonderful tour guide and lunch chef, not to mention showing us several off-the-beaten-track secrets (best croissants, limoncello, you name it!) He also had several suggestions that made our Path of the Gods hike even better than the guidebooks! We would definitely stay at this Villa again, without hesitation
We loved the place, the location, the terrace, the views, Positano - everything! Maria and Marco were fantastic. A couple things you might want to look into: the WC on the lower floor (under the dining room) had a tendency to keep running. I could usually get it to stop by jiggling things a bit. It was a little challenging to find the extra garbage and recycle bags. Finally, the "location" in the map listing under "get directions" is a little ways off of the real location, even after final payment. We preferred the true location anyway, so it was great for us, but a bit of a small surprise. Those are just some things for you to help future guests. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again if we return to Positano!

Great value. Good location, very close to several restaurants & relatively close to groceries & main bus station to other towns. The upper terrace of house was phenomenal with cool breeze & green shade even in warm afternoons & the views! From almost every room in the house stunning views. Lots of stairs in neighborhood, but that’s Positano. Loved that house wasn’t in center of town (which was mobbed early July) but town center only ~15 mins walk away, also loved that closest beach was Fornillo which is more local beach and so much less crowded than Main beach in town (also no big boats means crystal blue waters for swimming). Beaches are rocky so if you’re not used to that, bring water shoes. Host very responsive & gave us great bottle of local Olive oil & Prosecco.
Shower drains a little slow. Furniture dated, I found it charming but other family we were with found older furniture a bit uncomfortable. Overall great stay & great value. Terrace was phenomenal. Thank you again for your hospitality. Joanna

Roomy accommodations with large patios overlooking the water - beautiful setting. Location is great, close to center of Positano but far enough away to be quiet. Multiple good restaurant choices within a five minute walk. Photos accurate.

Fantastic property with an antique feel. We were seven adults and felt like we had plenty of space between the living room and gorgeous terraces. The location worked well for us too—it was easy to get to any of the Positano beaches on foot and there are some lovely restaurants just around a corner. Obviously there were the requisite stairs and they gave my 70 year old father some trouble, but he didn’t mind taking the road or a car instead. The car service recommended (Due Golfi Car Service di Giuseppe Esposito) was a life saver for restaurants and activities farther afield, since there was no way we were going to attempt driving ourselves. Maria Dolores was also great—very communicative and helped us quickly solve one issue with the lights early on in our stay. Overall highly recommend this house, especially for a large group.
The stay was fantastic and my family adored the house, the location, and Positano as a whole. Maria Dolores was wonderful to communicate with. My only suggestion would be fresher, fuller, and fluffier pillows on the beds. Thanks so much for a charming stay in Positano. Kenzie

This the second time we rented this property. Very spacious villa in a great location. Not to high up where you must walk a great deal or take a taxi. Fully equipped kitchen and large dining room table. The two patio balconies are huge provide additional space. Good price value relationship

The location was great! The view was fantastic! Staff was very helpful. With the extreme heat and no air or fans, it was hot at night. That would be the only area to be addressed. Great time had by all.

The villa was ideal for our five days in Positano. My family of six adults had plenty of space to unwind, eat and sleep in the charming rooms. We especially enjoyed having breakfast on the terraces. The views of the sea and parts of Positano are stunning!
We enjoyed our stay! The villa had plenty of space, all the amenities we needed, and spectacular views. My only minor suggestion is to provide an electric coffee maker. Thanks, Guglielmo! And please pass along our thanks to Maria Dolores!

Pictures don't do it justice. The views and balconies are spectacular and the house is a lot bigger than expected. It has all the amenities you need and is in a great part of Positano. Fantastic property!

Beautiful terraces, perfect location and excellent recommendations from our host. We had an amazing with our friends on this trip. There were 6 adults and the Villa was very comfortable for us. It was a bit noisy as it was right on the street and a little over cluttered but the view and location was totally worth it. Our host provided us with some insider tips that we would have missed out on so we are grateful for all of our experiences. Great value for this place!
Thank you so much for our stay. We loved the location, suggestions, the beautiful terrace, and help from Marco. The villa was really an outstanding value for everything and we would recommend staying here for future guests. I would only suggest adding a shower curtain in the bathroom, providing ant spray, and perhaps decluttering the house a bit. Thank you again!

We loved the outdoor shower, the big terraces and the spectacular view. The bus stop was right below the home and very convenient. It wasn't as clean as I expected it to be but with a bit of dusting and airing out we were comfortable.
Guglielmo, We really enjoyed our stay in Positano and enjoyed being in your home. We loved the terraces, the outdoor shower and the location. The view was spectacular. It wasn't as clean as I expected it would be, I think it had been closed up for a long time. But after an airing out with the doors and windows open and a dusting off it was a great place to stay.

This villa is a beautiful historic structure about a 10 minute walk from the central part of town. It is about a half mile from the most popular beach north of the central city. The home sleeps 7 comfortably although there is a sofa that could accommodate an additional person. This villa has three large bathrooms and 2 patios, so there is ample space for everyone. The kitchen is well equipped if you decide to prepare meals and there are two large dining room tables. One is on the upper patio and the other inside the house. We made good use of the two patios and found the location to be ideal. In case you did not know you will be doing a lot of walking in Positano and much of it is climbing stairs, so be prepared (in shape) when you visit this beautiful paradise. The property is located close to really good restaurants and grocery shopping as well as public transportation. This rental is a very good price/value. When we return with our family we plan to stay at this villa again.

We really enjoyed the villa. The location was fantastic. My family liked the layout of the house, especially the porches. We had a family dinner one night and found the kitchen to be well equipped. We love Positano and especially the people. We feel we know many people that are native to Positano (Delores, Marco, Francesca, who owns Rino). We did not want to leave so soon to visit Rome. But we felt we must see Rome. On our next visit, which could be next year we will stay in Positano for the week.

Staying at this beautiful Villa full of charm and character made the whole Positano experience beyond special. The space is really inviting, it's super well located and the terrace views and atmosphere are perfect for relaxing, enjoying a beautiful Italian meal and in my case practice some yoga! We felt taken care of throughout the whole process, with prompt replies and helpful guidance. Definitely, an experience to remember and to repeat!

On Monday I will write the airbnb review. But I can tell you already it was amazing and staying in your home full of heart and character made it all that much more wonderful.
It's a shame that I didn't get to meet you... I guess I'll have to come back!

Our stay here was wonderful! First off, dealing with the rental agency was extremely helpful and accommodating, answering all our questions swiftly while making us feel welcome even before our arrival; it was truly a pleasure dealing with them. Once in contact with the owner, we found him to be just as kind and welcoming; helping us throughout our month long stay with any questions we had. The villa itself is incredible; spacious both inside and out! We spent the majority of our time on the terraces absorbing the magnificent views; the outdoor shower was wonderful this time of year! We greatly appreciated the well stocked kitchen; it made our long stay very easy with home conveniences such as numerous dishes and knives, a dishwasher, and even a clothes washer for our laundry. The villa is located outside the tourist area (which is a good thing) but easily accessible if you want to people watch! Overall I can't say enough wonderful things about our time spent here, it was spectacular!

This was a beautiful villa to stay in while in Positano. The views were stunning and the villa was very spacious. There was a lot of history in the Vila which we learned when speaking to the owners. We had everything we needed for a great stay![Guglielmo]

Very spacious, would work for a couple of families if needed. One of our favorite places that we stayed in Italy. Large terraces on two levels with ocean views! Convenient location to the center of town. There are lots of steps to get up to the villa but with Pier Guido there to help us, not a problem. We could walk around the corner and access great restaurants and shopping, then a wonderful walk into town and the beaches

This was our first time to Positano and loved staying in this amazing villa.
Positano was everything I imagined and more! The little store down the hill was our favourite. The product was excellent! Even eating in was enjoyable because of the high quality of the food.
There are a couple of things I'm taking away from Italy. The love of the food, the love of the italian people and a couple of extra kilos!!
Thank you Positano

The house was brilliant. We had 2 families with children from 2-7 and we all fitted really well. We got the cleaner to cook one night and her daughter babysat who was lovely. I was worried about the walking but we all enjoyed it. Ill fornillo was our favourite beach, not as busy as main Positano. I highly recommend the house, it was very authentic and reasonably priced for a great location.
